Permit and inspection requirements vary by jurisdiction and project scope. Auto Charge Pros confirms the applicable process for the actual property and work being performed. Electrical trade permits are submitted through Fairfax County's PLUS system.

For standard residential electrical trade permits, Fairfax County generally does not require separate electrical plans. More complex scopes or property types may have additional requirements.

When permitting is included in the project scope, Auto Charge Pros can handle the applicable electrical permit and coordinate inspection.

VIRTUAL & IN-PERSON INSPECTIONS

Fairfax County currently conducts both virtual and in-person building and trade inspections. A virtual inspection may be requested during scheduling, but the inspector determines whether the individual project is appropriate for remote inspection.

Clean Wiring for Finished Homes and Longer Routes

The charger is only the visible end of the installation. When practical, Auto Charge Pros prefers concealed wiring through accessible framing, basements, ceilings, attics or unfinished areas rather than automatically running exposed conduit across finished surfaces.

If drywall access is necessary, expected openings are discussed before installation whenever practical. Where included in the written estimate, removed drywall may be securely fastened back after the required electrical work and inspection. Full finishing—including tape, compound and sanding—is available separately when requested unless specifically included in the written scope.

For exterior routes, wiring methods and equipment placement are selected around the actual property conditions.
