Your Main Breaker Doesn't Tell the Whole Story

A 200-amp electrical service or open breaker spaces do not automatically establish that enough capacity is available for a high-output EV charging circuit. Existing household electrical demand must also be considered.

A hardwired charger operating continuously at 48 amps requires an appropriately designed dedicated circuit. Before recommending that charging output, Auto Charge Pros evaluates the home's electrical system and completes the appropriate capacity calculation when needed.

If capacity is limited, the solution is not automatically a service upgrade.

The charger mounted on the wall is only the visible portion of the installation. The wiring route between the electrical panel and charging location is equally important.

When practical, Auto Charge Pros prefers concealed wiring through accessible framing, unfinished areas, basements, ceilings or attics instead of automatically running exposed conduit across finished spaces.

If drywall access is required, expected openings are discussed before installation whenever practical. Where included in the written estimate, removed drywall can be fastened back after the required electrical work and inspection. Full finishing—including tape, compound and sanding—is available separately when requested.

For detached garages, outdoor parking areas and longer property routes, we evaluate appropriate wiring methods, weather exposure, physical protection and underground routing when applicable.

Loudoun County currently processes online permit applications and inspection scheduling through LandMARC. The inspection sequence and property-access requirements depend on the individual project and approved scope.

Before installation, we explain the expected permit process, wiring route, inspection access and any portions of the electrical work that may need to remain visible until inspection.

Private HOA or property-owner association requirements are separate from County permitting. Properties within incorporated towns may also have separate local zoning, architectural or historic requirements depending on the property and scope.
