Why this matters

Open breaker spaces do not prove that a home has enough electrical capacity for another large continuous load. Even a 200-amp service must be evaluated against the home's existing electrical demand before a high-output EV charging circuit is added.

For a typical 48-amp Level 2 charging installation, capacity is evaluated before the circuit and charging output are finalized.

A cord-and-plug-connected charging system using an existing circuit that already complies with the manufacturer's installation instructions is treated differently and does not require a new electrical permit solely for plugging in the charging equipment.

The charger is only the visible portion of the installation. When practical, Auto Charge Pros prefers concealed wiring through accessible framing, unfinished areas, ceilings or basements instead of automatically running exposed conduit across finished surfaces.

If drywall access is necessary, expected openings are discussed before installation whenever practical. Where included in the written estimate, removed drywall can be fastened back after the required electrical work and inspection. Full finishing—including tape, compound and sanding—is available separately when requested.

For outdoor parking, detached garages and longer property routes, we evaluate the appropriate wiring method, weather exposure, physical protection and underground routing when applicable.
