01 / local installation plan
Fairfax includes established single-family homes, split-levels, colonials, townhomes, finished basements and newer construction. A charger located beside a garage electrical panel is a very different project from one requiring a circuit from a finished basement or interior utility area.
Before installation, we evaluate electrical capacity, breaker space, household demand, charger requirements, parking position, cable reach, circuit distance, finished areas and the practical wiring path. The goal is a clean, appropriately sized installation without unnecessary electrical upgrades.
02 / electrical capacity
Available breaker space does not automatically mean sufficient service capacity is available. A charger configured for 48 amps typically requires an appropriately designed 60-amp dedicated circuit when the equipment, vehicle capability, wiring method and available electrical capacity support that output.
When full-output charging is not appropriate, possible alternatives can include reduced charging output, compatible load management, power sharing for multiple chargers, panel or feeder modifications, or a service upgrade when genuinely necessary.

03 / wiring routes
Many Fairfax installations require wiring to travel from a basement, utility room or interior panel to an attached garage or outdoor charging location. When practical, Auto Charge Pros prefers concealed routing through accessible framing, unfinished areas, basements, ceilings or attics instead of unnecessarily running exposed conduit across finished spaces.
Older construction, additions, renovations and finished basements can require additional planning. If drywall openings are needed, expected access locations are discussed before installation whenever practical.
Where included in the written estimate, removed drywall may be securely fastened back after the required electrical work and inspection. Full finishing—including tape, compound and sanding—is available separately when requested unless specifically included in the written scope.

The City of Fairfax is an independent city, separate from Fairfax County, with its own City Code Administration and permitting authority. This page addresses properties inside the City; City requirements are not substituted with Fairfax County residential or HOA EVCS language.

Auto Charge Pros is a Tesla Certified Installer providing Tesla Wall Connector and Universal Wall Connector installation throughout Fairfax and Northern Virginia. We evaluate electrical capacity, determine the appropriate circuit, plan the wiring route and position the charger around the vehicle's normal parking location and cable reach.
Compatible installations may also support reduced charging output, multiple Wall Connectors with power sharing and compatible power-management solutions.

For most permanent residential Level 2 installations, Auto Charge Pros generally prefers hardwired equipment when supported by the charger and electrical system. Hardwiring eliminates the plug-and-receptacle connection and can support higher output with compatible equipment.
A properly installed EV-rated receptacle can still be appropriate for compatible plug-in equipment or homeowners who need portability.
