For a permanent home charging installation, we generally prefer hardwired equipment because it eliminates the receptacle-and-plug connection and allows compatible equipment to operate at higher charging output when the electrical system supports it. When a finished wall or ceiling separates the electrical panel from the garage, completely concealed wiring may require drywall access. We plan those openings around the actual wiring path and keep them as practical as possible rather than defaulting to exposed conduit simply because the route is more difficult.
Where included in the written estimate, removed drywall may be securely fastened back after the required electrical work and inspection. Full finishing—including tape, compound and sanding—is available separately when requested unless specifically included in the written scope.
