jurisdiction matters

Some Northern Virginia Mailing Addresses Need a Closer Look

A mailing city does not always identify the electrical permit authority. Independent cities, incorporated towns and areas that cross county boundaries can follow different permit processes. Auto Charge Pros confirms the actual property jurisdiction before submitting permit paperwork.

CITY OF FAIRFAX

The City of Fairfax is an independent city separate from Fairfax County and maintains its own permitting authority.

CHANTILLY

Chantilly — service jurisdiction depends on the property address; Chantilly mailing addresses may fall in Fairfax County or Loudoun County.

MANASSAS

The City of Manassas is an independent city and is not part of Prince William County's building/trade permit jurisdiction.

MANASSAS PARK

The City of Manassas Park is also an independent jurisdiction separate from Prince William County's permitting system.

WARRENTON

Warrenton is geographically within Fauquier County but the incorporated Town maintains its own building and electrical permitting system.

Why We Have Individual Local Service Pages

Electrical capacity rules are the same fundamentals everywhere, but the property and permit process are not. Individual community pages explain local housing layouts, parking arrangements, association considerations and jurisdiction-specific requirements without forcing one generic installation description onto every Northern Virginia home.

If your community is not listed, contact Auto Charge Pros. We may still serve the address if it falls within or near our normal Northern Virginia service territory.

08 / owner-operated

One Electrician Responsible for the Project

Every project is handled directly by owner and Virginia Master Electrician Nick Wilson. We evaluate the electrical panel and available capacity, complete the appropriate load calculation when needed or required, explain the applicable permit process and plan the wiring route around the home. Nick personally performs the electrical installation, with no subcontractors.

READY WHEN YOU ARE

Not Sure Which Service Area Your Address Falls Under?

Send us your address and a brief description of the project. For EV charger installations, include a photo of the electrical panel with the door open and a photo of the proposed charger location. We can confirm whether the property falls within our service area and identify the applicable jurisdiction before preparing the project scope.
